Car strikes pedestrian and other parked vehicles

A woman from Evansville was arrested after striking a pedestrian and a parked car while talking on her cell phone and driving.

The woman was heading down West Virginia Street when she swerved and hit a parked vehicle on the roadway and a pedestrian who was walking on the side of the road.

Officials have said that the woman was unaware that she struck a pedestrian and the person was stuck underneath her car. She told police that she had been drinking before the accident. The pedestrian was sent to the hospital to be treated for injuries sustained.
